Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM)
Prévention et gestion des situations d’agressions physiques et verbales au travail
The medical center Emile Mayrisch (CHEM; Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch), which emerged from the fusion of the hospitals of Esch and Dudelange and the hospital Princesse Marie-Astrid in Niederkorn, is today one of the largest medical centers in Luxembourg, employing more than 1,860 staff, including 260 doctors, to care for more than 100,000 patients a year. True to its credo “E Spidol vun de Leit fir d’Leit”, the CHEM offers its employees a stable and humane workplace that encourages dialogue.
The evaluation of satisfaction surveys and accidents at work of CHEM employees over the past few years has shown that the problem of aggression against employees at the CHEM is a real one. Being a signatory of the national strategy “VISION ZERO”, the CHEM launched a project called “Prévention et gestion des situations d’agressions physiques et verbales au travail”, which means “Prevention and management of situations of physical and verbal aggression at work”, to set up a simple and rapid tool for reporting aggression at work. A second objective of this project is to support employees at different levels by offering them several types of care: psychological care, preventive support for future accidents and legal support.
