Construction campaign

The national VISION ZERO strategy calls for a common integrated approach to reduce the number and severity of work-related and commuting accidents as well as occupational diseases. The medium and long term objectives remains the ongoing decrease in severe and fatal accidents, i.e. zero dead, zero severely injured.

With this in mind, AAA, IFSB and ITM united to organize the “Health and Safety Week in the Building Sector” and propose actions and ideas, a first step towards a risk sector.

Three keywords : awareness raising, prevention, training

The first health and safety week in the building sector took place from 19 to 22 June 2017. AAA, IFSB and ITM brought together more than 250 professionals from the building sector, employers’ and employees’ organizations.

During this week representatives from these partners visited 8 construction sites. Health and safety experts could appreciate the state of the sites and the prevention measures put in place. The prime objective was to raise awareness to these issues.

This action also allowed experts to exchange with employees, managers, designated workers, safety delegates etc. Information sessions on “health and safety on construction sites” were held explaining the objectives and mission of the VISION ZERO campaign and proposing solutions to ensure occupational health and safety. Prevention documentation was distributed concerning order and cleanliness on construction sites, personal and collective protective equipment.
